i actually liked this even better than you gl, which was also good it had a very human feeling to it, and i've always liked the whole lighthouse-keeper part of aquaman mythology i wonder how ocean master'll be used, though i'll say i'd also like to see manta show his face as well (actually, more like his helmet) keep up the good work..will you be doing issue 2?

yeah, he's already gotten #2 to me and it's just as good. LanternLad'll be finishing the first arc, then Manfromatlantis's run begins.

Yeah it was a good read. I'm not a big Aquafan but I'll give it a try for a couple of ishes to see where it's going. SPOILER
Isn't Manta the kid from his foster home?

Good catch dummybeau! That's the plan... I'm only signed up for the origin arc though, which will not feature Manta. manfromatlantis will be taking over for me once I'm done, so we'll see what happens from there! Stay tuned though, because things are about to get quite nasty in Atlantis!

Love the scene with Vulko and Orm; I didn't expect Vulko to meet his fate so soon, but the description of the murder is spot on, with the blood swirling in the water. Great visual (maybe it can be your issue 2 illustration?). Can't wait for Arthur to take down Orm--- yo're really gonna have to make that fight pay-off!

You had me worried for a moment there Idle... That's not Vulko. That was King Trevis' majordomo Arysio. Thought I was going to have to change something... I just completed writing the final battle between Orin & Orm, it is the stuff of Legends, my friend.

Oh...! I thought Arysio was an Atlantean title I was unfamiliar with, and that the old majordomo from the mines who had just seen Arthur was Vulko. The scene still works just as well, though. And I'm relieved Vulko's gonna be around, too.
